The cornea is the transparent window in front of the eye. Expert, specialized and timely treatment is of paramount importance in saving eyes suffering from corneal diseases. This is one of the fastest growing specialities in eye care with extensive ongoing research.

Many diseases of the cornea which were incurable, are now being successfully treated. Keratoconus is weakening of the cornea leading to it's protrusion or ectasia. A new technique called corneal cross linking which is used to strengthen the weak cornea is available with us. This involves putting drops called ribonflavin on the cornea and exposing it to metered dose of ultraviolet light. This stiffens the carnea. This process has revolutionised the treatment of keratoconus and saved many eyes from going blind.
