When you come to us, your first step is the reception desk of the outpatient department. Your eyes will then be checked by qualified doctors and optometrists. A proper examination of the eye is a time consuming process and to save time we have seven fully equipped lanes or consultation rooms. After examining your eyes, your doctor will tell you whether you need glasses, medicines, surgery, investigations or to see another doctor. We often have to put drops in your eyes, for a complete check up. These drops take about an hour to take effect, and will blur your vision for about 8 hours in adults and 2 days in children below 15 years. We therefore recommend that you plan your schedule accordingly and bring along a friend or a relative who can take you back home.
